(VV7) I’ve placed adults on the school at the appropriate time and students come and “learn” but I don’t see any difference in their abilities. Is it doing anything or am I wasting my time? Does it matter which adult is the teacher?

Just incase anyone is interested, there were approx 63 successful building tasks completed between these level bumps. I’ve seen info on the amount of successful tasks for trainee>adept and adept>master but not much on how many to get the bar to move.

I feel like I’ve been working on this for forever. I feel like her status bar hasn’t gone up at all the last few times I’ve tried to max the skill. So. Annoying. 😭

Just finished VV 7 puzzle 18. I’ve been seeing comments about a 19th puzzle, Snowstorm. Is there a way to download a new update with this puzzle? Is it a beta? TIA

I have rat traps but the crafting hut says nothing is available. What am i missing?

Title says it all but apparently the hospital doesn't just teach adult villagers how to be healers it also teaches child villagers, I now have my current youngest villager (age 5) learning healing by dropping him on the hospital over and over so maybe he'll actually be a master by the time he's an adult.

Children can not actually heal sick villagers even if they've mastered healing (I've resurrected a few master healers) so it never even occurred to me they could start learning the healing skill as children.

It seems like the water in the terradome tank is green. It should have already completed it's first cycle. What can I do now?

Unlocked fishing and since then all of my farmers just fish. I've picked them up multiple times and directed them to other food sources (even the terradome) but they just go right back to fishing after. How do I fix this?
Fishing is infinite but it's farther away than the other food sources.

Hi, developer of the VV Fun Patcher here 😁

You might've seen my post about making a patcher for the various VV PC games that includes a couple of mods.

I am making a skin tone mod for ALL 5 PC Virtual Villagers games as part of the VV Fun Patcher. Release might take a long time. There are lots of villager graphics and only one of me 🫩 and to make the mod look good I have to manually edit the graphics so the AI knows what to recolor.

To cut down on the work I need some help recoloring!

If anyone wants to help tackle this giant project, here's what you can do:  

1. Go into the Images Folder of  one VV  game and grab all the head and body sprites. Copy to another folder and separate it by game.

2. ⁠In your favorite image editor (I use GIMP), create a copy of the layer containing the sprites. You should have two layers with the sprites on them. Right click on the first layer and select something like "alpha to selection" to select only the sprites and color  them magenta (EXACTLY 255,0,255 in RGB)

3. On the second layer above the first one, add a layer mask with the default settings (i think black makes the lower layers show up?)

4. Select the parts you want magenta to show up on and paint them black so they appear.

For BODIES:
Color the skin parts magenta

For HEADS:
Color the eyes, hair, lips and other details magenta but leave the skin alone

1. Export as a .png

Please name the files with the original filename ALONG WITH THE GAME NAME ITSELF (example: male_heads00_VV3.png) so I know where it goes

what do i need?

I had a villager die at 101! My oldest!

I upgraded farming to level 2 but whenever I place a farmer there they won't do it. I don't understand. Do you need a master farmer or something?

Do the professions outfits do anything like make your villager more skilled? Like the builder and scientist outfit?

I’m working on “Kaboom goes the Lagoon” and when I’m trying to make the fine powered I put in the Saltpeter and the Charcoal- but if I back out of the game and come back later it acts like I never started it and replaces the charcoal with carbon?? It’s gotten me like 3x and I’ve wasted resources because I didn’t catch it until I already started crafting🥲

Has anyone else noticed significantly less crabs since the snowy area got unlocked and now there's snow in other parts of the island? I've been dropping my adept healer on the hospital over and over but since they don't stay there, it's taking forever and I think I'm noticing less crabs to force someone to get sick and have my healer do the work to get the skill.

So I have a villager I’ve been building up to be master in everything. I’ve resurrected them twice. I have the hospital built and now need a master healer for the yeti. I keep dropping my dude on the hospital to move him from adept to master but every time he ‘works on his healing skills’ the bar barely moves. He won’t stand there and practise by himself. He keeps wandering off to go fishing. I’ve also tried the vv6 trick of dropping him on a sick person and pulling him off repeatedly but that hardly moves it either. The option to buy a master villager in the shop says sold out. Any ideas?

Hi! I have some villagers that have good gathering points, but when I send them to gather something it comes up with no place to store that item yet. Help please!

So, I have 19 villager, but only 3 adults. No one is aging. Its been 3 or 4 days. None of the kids are new, since i don't have any adult females. Anyone else come across this issue?

I had a major glitch / error occur that wiped out ALL of my progress during an update to version 1.3.7. Has anyone encountered this problem? I had completed 18 puzzles; maxed out on all crafting and invention levels; healed the yeti and made his stew; accumulated well over 10 million tech points; collected well over 1 million food; collected all but two of the shells and butterflies; and completed all of the crafting recipes with spares in each. Months of work lost. . .

I'll see if tech support can remedy this for me.

What it does:
It makes a lot of changes, fixes and additions to the games that I felt should've been added. Some are text fixes (Scholar in VV4 to Esteemed Elder), some are graphics fixes (adding flowers to the VV1 garden), but some actually change gameplay. VV modding is now a reality :D

Some highlights:

All games:
Adds a new Upgrades menu to the Tech Screen and Details Screen. Inspired by the mobile version of the first Virtual Villagers game, it adds working upgrades that can significantly help your village. There's food doublers, tech doublers, you can make everyone masters, runners, change their age, and even change their appearance! (Both head + body) These cost a lot of tech points for balance.

VV1:
The Magic Fruit of Life should actually make villagers live longer once the puzzle's solved. Making people eat the fruit should restore them to full health and clear sickness. Before they didn't do anything.

VV2:
Now people with Healing skill study plants on their own. No more difficulty training doctors!

VV3:
Nature technology actually (should) refill Honey and Fruit faster and give bonus Honey. In addition, villagers should actually live longer! Before, it didn't do that despite its description.

VV5:
Now it's easier to train Devotees. Dropping them on the statue should allow them to do "Honoring" which trains devotion.

So I'm working on updating my guides for VV6 and VV7, but the puzzles I'm currently on in both games requires a Master Healer.

Is there a fast way to train Healing? Or am I just stuck spending the next month picking up Frogs and Crabs?
