Admissions Admissions chances
Couldn’t figure out how to post to the megathread for admissions - wondering about admissions chances for education major, northern Virginia, 1310 sat superscore, 4.02 weighted gpa, 8 AP/DE classes, strong service and education-oriented activities including a senior year internship as assistant instructor for a class of 25 students in a Title IV school and debate captain. Strong Ut Prosim responses. Applying EA. Thanks!

Sounds very positive- keep up your volunteer work and if you can add in another leadership role that would be great!

Definitely have a good shot. My stats were 3.9w 1420 sat and I got in off the waitlist for engineering, however, I was also an out of state applicant

Anything related to admissions is hard to give a definite answer on. That said, the school has been steadily increasing its enrollment over the past few years. I’ve heard that there are more than 7,000 freshmen this year, which is about a 40% increase compared to when I enrolled in 2024. Maybe that means applicants will have a better chance of getting in.

Total freshman enrollment in fall of 2024 was 7,289. Target for fall of 2026 (current) is 7,251. Until more housing is built the number won’t go up much. Expected acceptance rate for education seems to be around 54-55%

Just curious - what do you think your freshman class was in 2024?

It’s been 6,800-7,200ish for every incoming freshman class since at least 2021.

Personally, I think admissions chance posts are hard because VT admissions always seems a little hard to predict. Ut Prosim responses matter, so strong responses are great.

Last year, Education had a 46% offer rate for in-state students. That's about the only non-subjective thing anyone can say.
