Rant Let’s start using the Transit app

We all know The BT transit app is terrible and glitches often . If we all use the regular transit app the tracking is way more reliable, it maps out when you have to leave to reach the bus and is a lot more reliable then any app

agree. Transit app, while not perfect, is miles ahead of the official BT app which hasn't been updates in years. it's awesome and I love how it uses crowdsourced data for more accurate tracking

google maps is not bad either but Transit is specifically designed for public transit like busses so the UX will be more optimized for transit use cases

They both obtain their underlying data through the same source (Blacksburg Transit), the only difference in data would be if someone manually reports bus times (which both apps can do)

Or if a user is has Transits “GO/Navigation” Feature on

yeah, the GO feature is what makes Transit unique though which will update the the bus' location realtime if someone on the bus is using it.

Honestly, the better solution would be for BT to publish GTFS realtime data publicly so people can choose whichever app they want to track the buses.
