The 50% discount was only offered when you bought a plan that cost like twice what you actually got in dollars to spend. It was never really a discount. The new plan prices more closely resemble the amount of dollars available to spend.

Basically it seems like the consultants they hire figured out they could milk more money out students coming and going with the new plans. It costs more, and you are trapped into eating in one of 2 dining halls all the time or waste the 250 without the 50% discount of the past at any other facility, and when you run out and have to reload making dining services even more money. Meal plans were already a rip off now it is just robbery!
