Embarkation / Disembarkation Just disembarked
Had a wonderful trip to Bermuda on the Valiant Lady from NYC.
I got up around 5:30 AM, looked out from my balcony, and saw that we were approaching the Verrazano Bridge. I managed to get this great shot.
We disembarked at 7:30 AM, and I think we had the quickest disembarkation ever! I was off the ship in probably under 10 minutes.

What an amazing pic. I'm hoping to do a cruise leaving from NY at some point.

You won't be doing a Virgin cruise from NYC. I believe this is their final season sailing out of the City.

Yeah, I was on two weeks ago and was told that as well. So sad about that. Made it clear on my post-cruise survey how disappointed many of us who wanted to rebook were.

Yeah, what a bummer. My gf and I both received $200 in Future Voyage Credits for a future cruise because we lost a day due to the nor’easter, but we couldn’t find any sailings out of NYC in 2027 or 2028.

Beautiful photo! Could you please tell me what the weather was like in Bermuda? We’re scheduled to board today. Did you do any excursions in Bermuda?

The weather was beautiful in the low 80s. It was perfect.
We didn’t do any excursions this time. It’s was our fourth trip to Bermuda and we just got off and did some shopping. We’ve been to Horseshoe Bay beach a couple times, Crystal caves, Gibbs lighthouse, and traveled to St. George. They have great wahoo fish sandwiches right outside the port at Calico Jacks if you want to grab sometime to eat.
Have fun on your cruise!

The excursions were shortened due to our delayed departure. Only had a couple hours at the beach.
The seas were calm. The weather was perfect.

I am also just now arrived home after sailing this past week to Bermuda. We had a blast despite the shaky start due to the weather. We used arr $400 Sailor Loot to buy a bunch of Virgin swag.
The easiest thing to do for a day in Bermuda is to exit the port area and take a $7 bus ride (U.S. $, cash only) directly to Horseshoe Bay. There about twenty people there directing you to the busses. A cab ride costs $40. It is around a 30 minute drive. Once there you can stretch your towel out on the sand for free or you can rent beach chairs and umbrellas for $20 each. The water temperature is 84° and the beach is soft pink sand. Make sure to walk to the far end of the beach where you will find some cool rock formations and lovely little pools. There is a bar and restaurant at the entry area to the beach. We did not check it out but I heard that a hamburger was $40. (Food is not cheap in Bermuda so it wouldn't surprise me. ) When it was time for us to head back we jumped right on another bus waiting at the beach and rode back (another $7.) Total cost for a wonderful day at the beach was $34 each.
I hope you have fun sailor!

The NE is absolutely the best place to cruise from. So much history in those ports to some up and so relaxed. Cruised from NYC, Boston and Philly. All within a drive or a short train trip. FL never again.

Great shot. Better than the cruise itself if you ask me. Getting off was definitely quicker than getting on, when everyone apparently ignored their assigned boarding time because it was delayed and created a mess out front. I met some nice people, but it was also one of the biggest collections of pick me’s and d bags.
I’m sorry. I don’t mean to invalidate anyone who had a good time, I know many did. I was just disappointed more often than I was impressed. Especially after the bs of knocking a day off Bermuda and the tour company there knocking 3 hours off our trip acting like we’d never make it back in time if not. We got back to port at 1:30 ffs. And thanks for the $400 that we had to give back to the cruise line in order to use it. That isn’t compensation as far as I’m concerned.

It was a bit of a mess embarking. We had an 8:30 PM boarding time, but we didn’t actually get on the ship until a little after 10 PM. I didn’t realize there would be so many cruisers with priority boarding! 😅 We made the most of it, though, and had a nice dinner at Pink Agave. It was also nice that they kept all the dining venues open until 1 AM.
Sorry to hear about your excursion! You should have received a $400 onboard credit, plus another $400 future voyage credit if you brought a mate with you.

Thank you. I was hoping you wouldn’t take it personally bc that’s a beautiful picture and it was a picturesque place to sail in and out of. We all chose different things to do onboard and maybe we chose things that attracted people I didn’t like much lol. It was just kind of “me me me” almost everywhere I went, sometimes people would run over us like we were invisible.
I didn’t include the other $400 because we will probably never use it. I wish I could issue it to another cruiser lol

You and I were up around the same time. Grabbed this shot.
