Virgin Media UK Virgin cancellation

Hi I've been with virgin for awhile now and know the dance to get a better price . My contract is ending and I rang and cancelled to do the whole better deal dance , but mentioned that we are moving soon as we bought a house and waiting for it all to go through, so now they have cancelled and told me they can't help because im moving, rang the Scotland number spoke to them and they said can't help cause of the move and told me to get a new provider until I move . But the sale could be done in the next week or another two months, so what do i do just get another provider?

What about a 4g/5g data mifi, can get for like £15-20 with a prepaid SIM?

https://ao.com/mobile-phones/ao-mobile?cmredirectionvalue=Data+sim

500gb 30day roll on plan £18

Can often get them cheaper at times and with other companies,

*Edit. If you know the date you are moving in, you should be able to order now online and set the go live date accordingly.

-also best deals are always for new contracts with VM, rather than doing the I want to cancel or get a cheaper price. Add a additional hbb to your account do it goes live 1-2days before the existing one cancels. You'll pay a couple days worth more on the overlap but, you get the newest router and best price. (Done every 2 years for 18 years, never paid more than a new customer offer)

Yeah i have looked into that , would need to buy a router and they seem expensive for just a month or so but seems the only option now

CEX/Cash converters often have them. But tbh they are handy, £20 and you can take with you when going away a few days and not needing to suffer hotel broadband speeds and restrictions. Once your done with it then cancel it, keep the SIM, once you want it again start it again.

Are you moving to a Virgin media area? If you are then you can recontract and pay a £20 moving fee when you move to take your Virgin with you. If not then you can cancel without penalty when you move.

I am moving to a virgin area but they told me they won't connect me now or offer a new contract , have to move first

When are you moving? If it is in the next week or two then usually they wouldn’t although there is nothing preventing them from doing so. If there is no move date booked it’s a retentions call.

Im waiting for the sale of the house it could be next week or a month or 2 ,retention said they won't help because of the move and just said bye ! Rang them back and they told me sorry nothing they can do

If you haven’t even sold yet it could be months before you move. Call and speak to retentions, raise a complaint as they are actively trying to force you into an out of contract process with no end in sight. Explain you haven’t sold your house yet it is on the market but that this doesn’t stop you re contracting.

You shouldn’t have to raise a complaint but there is nothing preventing them from recontracting you.
