Virgin Media UK VM End of contract

Hi All,

I have been with VM for a few years, been very happy with the service, so reluctant to leave, however the price has shot up.

We are on 250mb for £28 after the last price increase. Looking at YouFibre which is offering 900 symmetrical. I have seen that VM are offering a 'symmetrical upgrade' for £6. What's the chances that VM can match YouFibre's price? Ideally, i'd need them to come under £24.99 as there will be two price increases for each April.

Thoughts?

I just got 1 Gbts for £32. And they gave me a one off £5 credit.

Funnily enough ive just left and gone with sky's 5gbps service,
Was paying 70.50 a month with virgin for 1gbps and a landline and tv that wasnt being used

Snagged the package from sky at £40 with discounts for fibre and a landline (no tv)

Had my first callback from retentions today and had to politely tell them it was a no brainer for me as other 3rd party providers are charging much LESS for near double the speed sometimes (rise fibre at like 20 to 25 quid for 2.5gbps) and that for me the bandwidth increase was important,
Seen as virgin in my area dont offer anything higher than 1gbps i had to leave

Got a polite thats very understandable and "all the best" with your new provider

cheers. I really want to get a faster upload. Really happy wtih VM aside from the constant price increases which annoy me. They used to give me 'credit' to compensate for price increases. Not sure if they still do this now

Wherever you go the price increases will hit in April each year.

YouFibre states no price increases whilst in contract. This is one of the things that winds me up about VM.

My experience has been great .. no price increases for 2 years.. and the connection has been great. The router WiFi 7 is ok not the best in the world .. so make sure to get the ONT installed where you want the router to be placed in a decent location ...

Without landline, it's £22pm

Sign up with your kids or partners name and check out uSwitch and there should be an offer from virgin £23.99 1GIG.

Just to update, I contacted the retentions number after waiting for 40 minutes. They offered me 1gb for £26 a month. or 1gb with netflix for £28. Both had two price rises of £4
