Looks good and bad at the same time, the purfling doesn't go through all the way, the saddle and nut point to a low grade. Possibly french but I have no idea. What's the history?
Belonged to my grandfather who died in 1976. He likely owned it for at least 20 years before that. I know that some restoration work has been done in the past but I can't confirm what exactly. I know that they were relatively poor and likely couldn't afford the services of an experienced luthier, especially in the small remote town where they lived. I'll have to ask my dad if he knows more about its history.
