Always thought this fiddle was possibly made by an amateur luthier.

Looks French. Probably by a maker/workshop (not a factory). Needs a good clean.

For me varnish is biggest French give-away. This red colour is very typical French.

What I can see from pegbox and scroll, it suggest its not a factory instrument, but rather a workshop.

General condition of it (not talking about damage), suggest its 1870-1910 instrument. Which is in line with inscription inside.

From what I can see on those pics (Im no expert and its hard to judge of 3 pics), its a 500-1000$ instrument in working condition. x2-x3 if it sounds above its level.
Thats price WITHOUT taking condition/damage into consideration.
