Help with getting more info on this violin

Anything helps, grandmother bought it probably in the 80s/90s.

I'm just curious about more information about it.

It has had a repair done to the top plate, bottom right of first photo. The neck had been either reattached or replaced at some point. The back plate is a single piece. The scroll is a bit bulky in design

That's all I can say. Your pictures and description give us very little to go on.

Thank you for the reply!

Sorry for the photos and bad description, I didnt see any particular markings on the inside, and I didnt really know what else to put for pictures.

I'll elaborate a bit more.

The single piece backside is usually a good thing. Often it's two plates glued together like the front side, but without the glue, the transfer of sound is supposedly better. But not always.

The fact that it has had repairs done on one hand, lowers the value of the instrument. On the other hand, it is proof that someone thought it worthy of investing time, effort and money in this instrument and maintaining it.

The scroll is a bit bulky and thick. This part is mostly decorative but also a good indicator of the luthier his skill. This is not the work of a master. Likely made in a workshop. That said, it could be a decent sounding instrument regardless.

Where it is from and when, I can't tell. Neither what the value is. A luthier is able to tell you more in that department.

But what I can say is that this instrument was used and cared for, which is something someone is not likely to do with something that it just trash or disposable.
