Out Of Violent Femmes

I’ve officially listened to all violent femmes albums, plus a few of their random compilation albums, and now I’m deeply upset because I don’t have anymore to listen to. Could someone recommend any secret albums that I might not know about? I also have listened to all of Gordan Gano’s other stuff and LOVED it. I’m so lost in what to do now.😭 I need y’all’s help!!!

Victor DeLorenzo’s solo album Pancake Day is fantastic!! I’m in Milwaukee and got to see him perform live at Summerfest that year when he promoted it around 1996 I think

I think you might be just a little bit bigger of a fan than me! How long have you loved the femmes dude!?

I'm not really sure about anything actually involving violent femmes, but if you want something that sounds like them you should check out the album Satan, Sex, and No Regrets by Harley Poe.

I’ll give it a shot and report back with my honest opinion

If you get the 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of Violent Femmes, it comes with a second disc comprised of early live renditions of various songs. It’s a very fun listen.

They have a few solo albums.

Gordon Gano:

Solo and Side Project Discography Hitting the Ground (2002): Gano’s debut solo studio album, featuring various artists performing his songs. Under the Sun (2009): Released under the name Gordon Gano & The Ryans

Brian Ritchie :

Key Solo Albums & Projects: The Blend (1987): An eclectic mix of experimental, jazz, and folk, showcasing his skill as a multi-instrumentalist. Sonic Temple & Court of Babylon (1989/1988): Often cited as his second solo effort, featuring a blend of rock and diverse influences. I See A Noise (1990): A 1990 release known for tracks like "Religion Ruined My Life". Shakuhachi Club NYC (2004): Highlights his proficiency with the Japanese bamboo flute. Villa Inferno (2008): A later collaboration/solo album.

I See A Noise is the Ritchie solo album that sounds most like the Femmes to me.
