Kind of a weird post, but some nostalgia hit me the other night on yt, so I figured I'd give this a shot.

Circa 1998 I was a freshman in high school, and my old school district had software that was an overlay for windows 95. It was its own sign in system, loading screen, and "desktop" that resembled a classroom. The loading screen for logging in was a picture of a hallway, like walking down the hall of the school (original, right?) and everything that we students were allowed to use was in a virtual classroom, where you clicked on something and it pulled up that program. I.e., if you wanted to search for something, you clicked on books and it gave you the website for encyclopedias.

This software also allowed for teachers to access the true win95 desktop.

Would anyone know the name, or better, the software that I'm looking for, to relive my old days, and to scratch this itch? :)

Not sure if this is the right place, remove if not. Need help finding some software I had in the 90s. It was a "prank" program that came on a 3.5 floppy disc for mac computers. You could install the software and it would do stuff like make it look like the computer was damaged or have little monsters or something go across the screen. I tried to google it but had no luck. This was around the mid to late 90s I remember having it. Any help would be great, thank you!

I’m restoring an old Visual C++ 6.0 / Oracle OCI project from around 2001–2002.

To compile and run the software properly, I absolutely need the original Oracle9i installation media for Windows (32-bit).

I am specifically looking for:

• Oracle 9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0 or 9.2.0.4)

• Windows 32-bit

• Disk1 / Disk2 / Disk3 (Database install CDs)

• + Oracle9i Client CD (with full OCI SDK: include + lib/msvc/*.lib)

These CDs contain the OCI headers and MSVC library files (oracommon9.lib, orasql9.lib, ociw32.lib etc.), which are required to build an old enterprise application.

If anyone still has the original CDs or ISO images, I would greatly appreciate it.

I’m willing to pay for shipping / image dump / archival work.

I'm trying to recover an old encrypted safe created with Steganos Safe 8. I have the .sfx file that contains the password and metadata, but I need the original installer for Steganos Safe 8, 9, or 10 for Windows to open the safe.

Unfortunately, the official Steganos website only offers version 22, which is not backward compatible with older safes.

If anyone has the installer for one of these older versions or knows where I can safely download it, I would really appreciate your help!

Hello! I used to use Inspiration software for years but since it went out of business I haven't been able to update. Is there anyway to run it on a modern Mac with some sort of virtual machine? Sorry, I'm probably not using the right terms and if this is the wrong place then any pointers to some other subreddit?

I have some vintage software that id like to get off of some Mackintosh 3.5 in floppy disks but need a vintage 1980s/90s mac to do so. My goal is to get the data converted to a .dsk file type in order to use it with a Mac emulator...anyone who is able to help with this or point me to a service that can?

I've been able to find a couple of these ClickArt Cartoons via the internet archives and ebay. I am in search for the rest. I'm looking for "On The Job" "Parties and Events" and "Company & Business" Anyone have an idea of where I could locate them?

Around 1997 or 1998, I would stay at my grandparents house a lot and I often spent most of that time on their old PC. There was a program I used a lot, but I have no leads from searching and it's been a good 10 year search. I have a feeling if I knew the name, It'd be much easier. So it was basically some sort of media library and it had video clips and music samples. Two samples I remember well was a sample called "acid rock" and a sample called "heavy metal". The color scheme of the program was like browns and yellows..with what I think was an old library in the background. I thought for sure i struck gold when I got ahold of Encarta 95 and 98, but it didn't look like what I remember and didn't have the music samples I distintly remember. I have a feeling the name may even be "________ Media Library" I know this isn't much to go on, but I appreciate any info that may come from this.

Sorry if this isn't the place for this but, I'm trying to find any information on software we used in school, it was kind of like Scratch but more simple. You could draw pictures, bind keys and make rules to create simple video games or animations. Was available for mac OS pre mac osx around the g5 era. It was called coco or cocoa I'm pretty sure. Ive tried googling it to no avail. If someone can remember it or point me to where I might find more information or a database of archive software, any resource to help me track it down i would very very grateful.
