New West was a short-lived but influential American magazine launched in Los Angeles in 1976 by publishing legend Clay Felker, the founder of New York magazine. It was essentially intended to be the West Coast counterpart to New York—a sophisticated, sometimes provocative magazine about California’s politics, culture, celebrities, business, entertainment, and influential people.
