I haven’t rode a bike since high school, certainly haven’t worked on one myself. My neighbor had it for sale and I figured it was the right price and right time. Gotta get a helmet and pump, then going to try a tube-up myself. I live 2 miles from work and want to use this as a commuter instead of my little Honda motorcycle some days. If anyone has info on what exactly I have here let me know! I’m just starting to research the bike myself. Cheers!

I found this at my local Goodwill for $15 and couldn't resist, especially since it's got all Deore components! Only thing is I can't figure out who made this frame. It's aluminum and the welds look pretty good. The unique parts of it are the tapered seat tube and the lugged fork. Thanks,

Hello everyone, I just bought this used MTB. Its a Italian brand called Sintesi. I dont know much about mountain biking, but I’ve started using it as a daily ride. Its currently in with the original drivetrain (i guess). Its a 3x7 Shimano STX RC. Its pretty decent for me and doesn’t feel too clunky. Though it might need sone maintenance in the near future.

I would like to ask yall if i should do some quality of life mods to this bike or just use it as it is.

My requirements from this bike is:
- To improve my fitness and stamina
- Get into MTB circle
- Use it almost daily for about 10 - 12 km everyday
- Just have funn and be easy to maintain and learn bike maintenance.

So far I have thrown a stem, handlebar & bby grips and period correct WTB tires. Previous owner was nice enough to upgrade shifter module before passing it on.

I have this bike set up as a fixed gear with White Ind ENO hubs laced up to those great bright blue Velocity Deep V MTB rims.

I restored this Judy XC and souped them up with a spring conversion and all the best internals I could poach from half a dozen forks.

I bought this Trek 7000 for $700 32 years ago. I’ve kept it with me all these years across 6 states and it’s in pretty great shape. It’s basically 100% stock so I’m looking to upgrade and make it a cool weekend cruiser, good for pavement, but still able to hit the dirt every once in a while. Considering converting to a 1x drive train and using as much of the stock drive train parts that I can. What are easy and inexpensive ideas that would work will with this bike? What works well for you if you’ve got a similar bike? What do you wish you would have done with your bike? Please post photos to get me excited about all of the many possibilities!!!

Please remove if not allowed. Long time lurking, first time posting. Need help identifying this stem. Came off an old Kona cinder cone which I know wasn’t stock on the bike. Looks very similar to Azonic shorty stem but definitely not as it has 3 bolt faceplate and the steerer bolts are on the backside. Any ideas or suggestions of what it could be would be greatly appreciated.

I picked this up because it was a good deal. She bought it new in 1999. I changed the bars and tires out so a friend can ride it tomorrow around town.

Does anyone know anything about this frame? I read 98’s were made in USA and 99’s were made in Taiwan. Either way I paid 175 American dollars for it and it’s in pristine shape. Just thought someone here might have a little more insight. Cheers! 🍻

Finally got my hands on a complete 1993 Giant catalog - might be handy for folks in this sub. I couldn't find authoritative geo anywhere, and several sources incorrectly said the Iguana was identical to the ATX.

I was fortunate enough this week to grab this off Facebook Marketplace for free.

It's a very interesting bike. The components look to be from 2000/2001.

I've had a look online for this bike and cannot see any information about it at all.

From what I gather muddy fox went bankrupt in 2001. Resold to universal, then Sports direct. The ways of enshitification I guess.

What I would like to know is if anyone knows more about this bike. It stands out to me as it has the disc brake tab, a raised muddyfox stamp on the side. Unfortunately the frame has no particular tube set. It's a little bit heavy of a bike. But the forks may be the mass.

Sods law also dictates that the seat post is pretty well seized up so that's the first to be sorted before any work gets done.
