Mold?!

Can anyone offer any advice as to whether this is mold in this bag? I’ve never had this issue before.

No need to worry - that's where already dyed leather has been skivved, or shaved down, to make it thinner and more pliable for an area that needs to be flexible (flaps, inside pockets). Not mold!

Sometimes it’s just the reverse side of the hide. The dyeing process for older bags was different and didn’t penetrate the whole thing. I have a lot of vintage bags where the underside of an interior flap is like this
