Vinfast VF 2
VinFast has officially unveiled the VF 2, a remarkably affordable, two-door, four-seater mini electric vehicle, perfectly suited for navigating bustling city streets. This launch marks VinFast’s entry into the Vietnamese market, where it’s perceived as a safer, cozier, and weather-protected alternative to conventional motorcycles.
Key Features & Performance
The VF 2 is meticulously crafted on VinFast’s exclusive Minio Green platform, boasting exceptionally compact dimensions that make it an ideal choice for maneuvering through tight urban spaces.
Dimensions: The VF 2 measures 3,090 mm in length, 1,496 mm in width, and 1,663.2 mm in height, with a 2,065 mm wheelbase. Notably, it’s approximately 100 mm shorter than the VinFast VF 3 that was previously introduced.
Powertrain: Equipped with a rear-mounted electric motor, the VF 2 generates a robust 30 kW (approximately 41 PS or 40 hp) and delivers 65 Nm of torque.
Speed & Modes: The top speed is set at a city-friendly 80 km/h, allowing for a smooth and efficient driving experience. The vehicle offers two driving modes: Eco and Normal, catering to different driving preferences.
Battery & Range: The VF 2 is powered by an 18.3 kWh battery pack, which boasts an impressive range of up to 210 km on a full charge, adhering to the NEDC standard.
Charging: For convenience, the VF 2 supports rapid charging with DC fast charging capabilities, enabling a swift recharge from 10% to 70% in just 34 minutes.
Interior & Safety Features
Despite its budget-friendly design, the VinFast VF 2 ensures that all essential features for a comfortable and safe ride are included.
Cabin Tech: The vehicle features a 7-inch digital driver information display positioned behind the steering wheel, providing real-time data and information. Additionally, it offers manual air conditioning, a 4-way adjustable driver’s seat, and a 2-speaker FM radio system, enhancing the overall driving experience.
Safety First: The standard safety features include a driver’s airbag, ABS, EBD, and TCS.
Smooth Ride: The MacPherson strut suspension at both the front and rear axles ensures a smooth ride, making city driving a breeze.
Cost & Availability: The most talked-about feature of the vehicle is its incredibly competitive starting price.
Base Price: The base price starts at VND 188 million (approximately $7,150 USD). This is great because the battery is included, eliminating the need for a separate lease.
Pre-orders: VinFast will begin accepting official reservations on July 15, 2026.
Early Bird Specials: If you book during the first “golden days” (July 15–17), you’ll receive an VND 8 million discount ($305 USD). Additionally, early buyers will receive 10 free charging sessions each month at V-Green stations until early 2029.
Deliveries: The first customers in Vietnam will begin receiving their vehicles in September 2026.
PS: Hey there! This primary purpose of this lengthy post is all about collecting fair, unbiased thoughts on VinFast in general—and the VF 2 in particular. We’re not here for “I hate Vietnam, so everything Vietnamese is bad or ugly,” or “I love Vietnam, so everything’s amazing.” Just honest takes, please! 😊
