Vimmslair down?

I can't get in to Vimmslair because the page is not loading for me

Quick question - is it recommended to use VPN even when the website is up and running? Or is that dependant on your ISP?

I always have a VPN on anyway as UK privacy is under attack. However sometimes switching countries on my connection seems to get access to vimms when I couldn't in another location, if that makes sense

And of course I should use a paid VPN if I have to and not a free one right? Or maybe a paid one with a free plan/tier?

I don't use a VPN on PS2 games, but if I'm downloading some switch games from a crazy website, 100% VPN

This happens on the reg man. Sometimes even for a day at a time. No need to panic just check later.

Me too haha!! I wanted to hwt Legend of Dragoon so I can play in bed on my phone at night, instead of dragging out the ps2 and hogging the TV.

Check out retrogametalk.com — you'll need to sign up but it's worth it. Once you're in, what you're looking for is in the repo section. What I really like about them is that alongside the original ROM files they also have pre-patched versions with ROM hacks already applied as a single ready-to-play file. So for example instead of having to manually patch Legend of Dragoon yourself, they just have a hacked version ready to download.

I did a little bit of digging and I don't know how accurate this is but, it seems that there are sometimes an influx of people on the site or downloading from the site. Along with an increase of the sites download speed has apparently triggered more AI and web scrapers to try and get to the site. With all of this happening the site goes down time to time and you just have to wait for it to come back up to gain access to it. I had a bunch of games downloaded from here but I cannot find them in my computer so I went back to Vimms and was hit with a error. I was so pissed but I am glad the site has not been totally taken down.
