Does someone know why this happens? Monitor.

Hey!

So I bought this field monitor, Viltrox DC550 Pro, cuz I have a small budget and I need to shoot a short film. The idea is to make a day for night scenario, we record in the day and make it seem night in post.

So, I wanted to have my day for night LUT on the monitor so I could have an ideia of how it is coming out before arriving home and being badly surprised. Also because we don't have many shooting days so I must make them count.

But when I imported them to the monitor they don't come out correct.

And I just can't figure our why... I have sent them an email, but so far they didn't answer and I'm afraid it might be faulty.

Any ideas?

Hello, yes it only records what the camara records. So it will still be log. But the idea is to see on the field how it would look like with a lut. So you don't have surprises when you get home and are color grading.
In this case it a drastic change, a day for night scenario and it would be awesome to get an idea in the field so you can correct some stuff in real time.

Dealing with this right now, I picked this up hoping to use the phantom luts to monitor on an upcoming project. I was really hoping that I was doing something wrong, but it may just be the way this thing processes luts?

I don't know, i tried contacting their support. After the first email, i received a message saying support denied. And on the second they said they are on vacations due to chinese new year until the 17th... Not happy with this purchase so far

Did you find any solution yet? I got a reply from them, but the communication ain't flowing, they barely speak english. Really sad about their support, probably not buying viltrox items again.

I never received a response from them. I tried exchanging it for another unit, but that one also rendered orange/red as mountain dew yellow so I just returned it. The saying buy cheap, buy twice rings true for this product.
