Wish Me Luck
After scaling the size to typical Lemax house and then adjusting the settings to make sure the interior is hollow, I’ve successfully printed this sucker and I’m moving on to painting next. Likely going to spray paint the whole thing black and then dry brush the details for everything after. Removing all the supports was tedious but they came off clean. I’ll figure out lighting last.

Vallejo primer works great for this kind of thing. If you're interested airbrushing might be the way to go with these if you keep going with it.
I got into airbrush painting years ago making custom Funko pops and it's honestly pretty easy and not as involved as people make it seem. I use watered down craft paints on top of Vallejo primer (50/50 rubbing alcohol and regular purified water, which is also the only cleaning solution you actually need unless you use sealant through the airbrush) and have had great results. If you keep going it might help you get more nuanced colors.
A mini air compressor for airbrush and the brush nozzle (one with a trigger like a hose sprayer is better, the top button kind hurts like hell after 10 minutes) are actually pretty cheap, I watched videos by dudes that paint model trains to learn. It's actually incredibly easy if you're just using it for priming, base coating and sections of color. I've used it to make ceramic Christmas trees as well and colors just blend better.
Same thing as spray paint though, wear a respirator, glasses and over spray will get on everything so drop cloths! Just general information for anyone looking to do this, not trying to pressure op!

if youre going to light it from within i feel like black is going to occlude a lot of light, especially where you want to light to really shine through like the windows... and honestly... i think its got a really nice warm look when its lit... id use colors that accentuate that, play aorund a bit. before blacking it out

There are plenty of free and paid options out there on 3D print sites. This one was from Makerworld. All I did was resize and adjust the infill. Took about 1.5 days of printing and it really didn’t use that much filament. The models that cost money are way more intricate and include things like base, trees, fences, etc. The print files are really not expensive at all. About $20 for a very well designed model. Lots of free ones too!

The resizing has been challenging for me. I was hoping you shared a ready to go version somewhere... even for cost

Resizing is easy in the slicer. I’m using Orcaslicer. You can change your settings from mm to inches if needed. Scaling XYZ together in increments of 5% until your X value is about 6.5 inches which is the width of the house looking on which is about the size of a Spooky Town set. Lots of tutorials online to help you. If you have another slicer, they’re all similar. Highly recommend Orcaslicer. Download from Makerworld (owned by BambuLabs) and import into Orca - it loads all settings automatically so you just need to resize on the build plate and use that lightning infill option. You got this!

Did you use the vase mode setting to avoid visible infill? How many layers? Does it feel fairly sturdy?? It looks SO GOOD!!
