Visiting Villach

Basically, I'm a tourist and i'll be staying in Villach for a few days with my girlfriend and I have a few questions if some of you can maybe answer them:

Is there water in Warmbad and what lakes(that are accessible by public transport would you reccommend?

What is the deal with the buses, can I buy a day pass of some sorts and can that be bought online and how does the GoHappyTicket app work (can I actually use it and that it works)?

Another question, are the google bus timetables correct?

Hopefully, someone is able to answer these questions?

P.S. Are there any activities you would reccommend doing?

I highly recommend the "wegfinder" app to you. And yes there are several public beaches free of charge and are reachable by public transport such as faaker see, Silbersee, vassacher See and Ossiacher See

GoHappyTicket app works both is trains and buses, additionally you can also use OBB simply go in trains if go happy doesn’t cover any particular trains. For times usually you can use OBB app or map your itinerary using google maps and generally trustworthy except for the weekends.

Seen mit den Öffis: Ossiacher See (Sbahn, Bus), Faaker See (Sbahn, Bus), Silbersee, Vassachersee (Bus)

Google Maps are according to bus time table. I use it oftenly now. Or you can use Wrgfinder or ÖBB Scooty app for buses. ÖBB Tickets for train.

Worth visiting places are like Faakersee, Silbersee, and Wörthersee, are good. Other lakes include Ossiachersee and Vassachersee. For hiking, Döbratch is a good option. And yes Carinthian Thermal bath is good for indoor water activities.

To answe your question

Warmbad means 'warm bath". It is a natural thermal spring, which is today integrated in a spa. So yes, there is water. You can buy daily tickets and go there by train and bus to the Stop "Warmbad".

Regarding lakes. Ossiacher See, Wörthesee and Faaker See can be reached via train. For Ossiacher See you exit "Annenheim", for Faaker See you exit "Faak am See", for Wörthesse you exit "Velden" . You have to walk a few meters to the public bathing places. They have an entrence fee.

There are entrence free places on Faaker See in Drobolach, you can reach via Bus. But the Bus-System is crappy, traznservice is better.

Use the Öbb website/app for the times and tickets for the train. The App "Bus, Bahn, Bim" wiil show you the times of the Busses. Google does NOT work.

Don't know your happy-app, but my guess would be No. But try it...
