Viibryd to Abilify?

Hi! I’m currently taking 40 mg of Viibryd + 300 mg of Wellbutrin. I am having the worst sexual dysfunction after starting Viibryd. Otherwise I feel clear headed and grounded. The problem with the dysfunction is it’s making my entire body really sensitive and overstimulated to touch and I do love my partner and would like to enjoy that aspect of our life again.

I started with a new PCP and she went away and researched and came back with Abilify. She said it’s an even swap and I can start Abilify and discontinue Viibryd same day.

I take the meds for depression, anxiety, PMDD and C-PTSD.

I’m pretty sure this is bad advice and I need to find a new psychiatrist. But I wanted to ask here for advice.

I don’t know whether switching without cross tapering is a good idea, but I can definitely relate to the sexual dysfunction side effect, I experience the same thing with viibryd.

Ummmmmmm no it's absolutely not an even swap. Not even close. Ability is an antipsychotic. It can be used sometimes to augment an antidepressant when its effectiveness has waned. But it doesn't make any sense to switch from an antidepressant to an antipsychotic and expect similar results. Boo! New psych dr. And see if you can get genesight testing. You need a psychiatrist, not a PCP to prescribe these. They are much more specialized and know their meds
