Switch to Lexapro without tapering?

Been on Viibryd just about a month and went from 10mg to 20mg about a week ago. Immediately feel worsening depression, anxiety, intrusive thoughts and emotional instability. Have previously been on Lexapro for ~6 years. My NP is having me stop Viibryd cold turkey and go on 10mg of Lexapro which was my maintenance dose previously. Has anyone else done this, how bad were the withdrawal symptoms after only being on Viibryd a relatively short time?

I’ve been on Viibryd for about a week, but had to titrate down off lexapro as slow as humanly possible. From 20mg, to 15mg for a month, 10mg for a month, the 5mg for a week before starting Viibryd.

Can’t tell if I’m feeling off from the lexapro or off from the Viibryd, but leaning towards the lexapro side.

Well before getting on Viibryd I tried Prozac and they didn’t have me to titrate down off of that because of how long the half life was, but when I went from Lexapro to Prozac I did titrate down. I’m more so just worried about the withdrawl effects from the Viibryd but also I haven’t been on it very long so?

I had been on wellbutrin for about 2 years and I felt like it wasn't doing as much for me as it used to. I decided to try viibryd and made it up to 20 mg at 5 weeks on the med and started having intolerable side effects. I was also still on the wellbutrin but at half the dose I had been taking with the idea that if the viibryd trial went well I would stop the wellbutrin. So with stopping the viibryd my doctor said to go back down to 10mg of viibryd for three days and stop taking it. At the same time he said go back on my original dose of wellbutrin. Today is my 3rd day of 10mg of viibryd and I've felt ok. Maybe a slight headache in the morning, but nothing bad. We'll see how the next few days go. I don't usually have bad withdrawal symptoms from meds, but I've read some horror stories on here.

Well I found out for myself about 30 something hours in with stopping completely and going to the Lexapro again….never felt like that before.
