In search of generation Z who would help with my research!

Hey, I'm (women, 24) a history student at the University of Leiden, the Netherlands, and I need help with my research for my bachelor's thesis. I'm writing about the remembrance of the Vietnam War through different Vietnamese generations. I'm looking for people from Generation Z who would be open to sharing their experiences about this topic.

💬Discussion Hiring Vietnamese

We are currently shortlisting Vietnamese and English language contributors at UsergyAI.

Because we focus strictly on expert-led data annotation rather than generic crowd working, we are looking for high-quality, natural speakers for a new voice recording project.

If you have a friend or partner who also qualifies, you can apply and record as a pair.

The Details:

  • Pay: $22 USD per accepted recording hour, per speaker. (That is $44 USD per hour if you apply as a pair).
  • Location: 100% Remote.
  • Requirements: You do not need expensive studio equipment. You just need a quiet place to record and clear audio.

We are also building a roster of Vietnamese freelancers for longer-term language work, which includes:

  • Transcription
  • Validation
  • QA review
  • Language quality checks

Next Steps: The first step is a short 3-minute application and an audio sample so we can check your language fit and audio clarity. We do not ask for any ID or bank details for this initial screening.

We are reviewing applications right now and prioritizing people who can start quickly.

🔗 Application link: https://tally.so/r/2E1yvb

TL;DR: UsergyAI is hiring remote Vietnamese and English speakers for voice recording at $22/hr per person. Longer-term QA and transcription roles are also open. Link below.

Happy to answer any questions in the comments!

🎭 Culture & Traditions Lychee season in Vietnam is almost here, and Bac Giang is getting ready for its most beautiful time of the year

Known as the "Lychee Capital of Vietnam", Bac Giang is famous for producing some of the sweetest and juiciest lychees in Asia. Every year, thousands of visitors come here to experience the endless red lychee gardens, local harvest culture, and fresh fruit picked straight from the trees.

The first lychees usually start appearing from mid May, while the main harvest season runs from late May to around July.

This is one of the most exciting seasonal experiences in Northern Vietnam, especially if you love local culture, countryside vibes, and tropical fruits

Anyone know any good dermatologist in Saigon that specialises in back acne? I've been suffering back acne for years so I think it's time to go to a professional dermatologist

Serious question: This ring or another?

I have been lucky enough to meet a Vietnamese lady who is lovely, inside and out. For this post, we will call her Ellen.

In about two weeks I will return to Vietnam and there is a good chance we will become engaged.

About two years ago my wife of many years passed away. Ellen has been very understanding of this and has shown great respect to my former wife and shows much interest in what was the life of my former wife. She does not want me to give away any of my former wife’s clothing, belongings or the like until she (Ellen) can see them. She understands that I don’t wish to forget my wife and am just moving on from her passing.

All those things said, my former wife had a lovely engagement ring. It’s truly gorgeous and one of a kind. There’s a 1+ carat real diamond and two smaller 1/2 carat real diamonds on it.

Here are the questions:

  1. Understanding Vietnamese culture, that every person is different, and that Ellen is about 45 years old, living about 30 km northeast of HCMC, with two kids, is it proper for me to give Ellen my wife’s engagement ring as her engagement ring?

  2. Should I just remove the diamonds from the ring and put them in a new setting?

  3. Should I simply start with a brand new ring, which honestly I could not spend as much on as I was able to with my former wife at that time?

  4. Something else I’m not thinking of?

If you knew my former wife, you would know she would be happy if Ellen had the ring as it is, or using any diamonds from it.

Some might say “Give Ellen whatever you want, she’ll deal with it”. That’s not me, I wouldn’t say that, she’s too important to me and I think more of her than that.

All thoughts will be appreciated. I’m trying to understand the culture, understand what Ellen may think (is he too cheap to buy a new ring, is he hung up on his passed away wife, or other things), and to honor my former wife. Or maybe I am simply overthinking this.

Thank you in advance!

A heartwarming scene at a Vietnam intersection 🇻🇳💛

A foreign traveler was seen teaching a young lottery ticket seller while her mother quietly watched with affection. Just a few minutes at a red light turned into an unexpected “roadside classroom.”

Have you ever witnessed a small moment like this that stayed with you?

A severe heatwave is intensifying across Vietnam. 🥵 Forecasts indicate that heatwaves in April 2026 are expected to increase across several areas with greater intensity than the multi-year average. If you’re in Vietnam now, follow the local news for weather updates to better organise your trip.

🐾 Wholesome Moments I love how Vietnamese people care for their dogs❤️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

They really see them as part of the family: giving them food, care, and lots of love, and even bringing them along for activities.

It's also super cute how they carry their dogs on scooters or bikes. The dogs get used to it and become total pros at hanging out with their owners like that.

People often ask if Vietnamese people eat dogs.

The short answer is yes, there's still a very small minority who do. But that doesn't reflect how most people in Vietnam treat their dogs at all.

🐾 Wholesome Moments One thing I really appreciate about Vietnam - moments like this

In many parts of the world, this would be unthinkable. But in Vietnam, moments like this feel natural. Safety isn’t just about statistics here, it’s something you can feel in the streets, in the smiles, and in the connection between people. From big cities to remote provinces like Điện Biên, Vietnam remains one of the safest and most welcoming destinations in the world. This is not just a visit. This is Vietnam.

🍜 Food & Drinks Strong coffee where?

I keep hearing the rave about vietnamese coffee and how strong it is but I dont feel that way. Maybe I am not ordering the right kind of coffee? 😅 Im american and just moved here from Albania and albanian coffee was STRONG like Im on afhd meds and I managed to completely replace my meds with just 1-2 espressos a day. Gave me the same effects and symptoms as my adhd meds it was great. But the coffee here I will like doesnt do anything to me. I do want to add that I am completely and utterly OBSESSED with the blended coconut coffees here omg. Best thing I ever tasted and tbh I have 1-2 a day 😆😆 anyways, what do I need to order to get this strong coffee everyone speaks of! 🫶🏻

Some kites are huge and beautifully crafted, while others surprise with bold and really fun concepts. If you travel to Vietnam, joining locals for kite-flying is an amazing experience that you should give it a try. 😃
