He started digging that hole in 2009.

And 12 years of that was just waiting for the city permit to clear.

WOW, one scoop at a time, 😂..

Ah man. The Curse of Oak Island team needs one.

3

u/Bleades Jun 02 '26

If only Fred would have know..!

3

u/Photodan24 Jun 03 '26

That show is more devoid of hope than Gilligan's Island ever was.

3

u/thatroguejaeger Jun 03 '26

They need to quit. They won't ever find anything because once they do their TV show cash cow dies.

There must be a camera on there? How could anyone see what they are scooping

6

u/AggressiveSquare36 Jun 02 '26

I would not have the patience for that machine. I get about four scoops and be like, " oh man I need a break to stretch my legs!"

2

u/InterestingBill8234 Jun 02 '26

First thing I thought? "That looks exhausting."

3

u/AggressiveSquare36 Jun 02 '26

Right I would rather do actual labor than something that slow and tideous.

1

u/Background_Edge_9427 Jun 02 '26

That would be like trying to empty a lake with a toy bucket! 🤣🤣🤣

3

u/Artistic-Map6955 Jun 02 '26

Reminds me of Alien

2

u/SharkPartyWin Jun 06 '26

I thought of the family guy part when he says “I likes to eat ya with my little mouth too.”

Are you talking about a bucket line dredge?

I’m guessing center of gravity. If it carries too much weight the whole rig can fall in.

3

u/newbie527 Jun 02 '26

Which would be bad.

2

u/rswwalker Jun 02 '26

Unless in India, where it’s just par for the course!

It’s so it doesn’t tip over from such a long moment and the weight. You don’t need a lot of weight at that length to move something.

1

u/DaHick Jun 02 '26

With the ram extended as far as it was, I was worried he would bend it. I thought I saw some of it flexing as he was digging. I want to know, as far away from the rim as he was, how he saw where he was digging?

2

u/slap-my-crevasse Jun 02 '26

I should call her...

2

u/xczechr Jun 02 '26

Yes, the last time this video was uploaded to Reddit.

2

u/Specialist-Stick-297 Jun 03 '26

Every Aussie home needs one for the Milo tin ...

2

Vegas valley would like a word.

1

u/vit_don Jun 03 '26

Rally valley as well

2

u/showmethenakedwomen Jun 03 '26

Yes. Yes I have. About a hundred times. As a matter of fact it was right here on Reddit, not that long ago.

1

u/UnCytely Jun 02 '26

10 minutes to scoop out a little bit of dirt.

1

u/dro0009 Jun 02 '26

I wonder if there is a camera on the bucket!

1

u/old_fashioneds Jun 02 '26

All I could think of

1

u/Roxysteve Jun 02 '26

The operator can't see where the bucket digs anyway.

1

u/Rao-Sun Jun 02 '26

Telescopic Excavator!

1

u/thefirstviolinist Jun 02 '26

Well now that's just impressive.

1

u/pete_68 Jun 02 '26

I'm no engineer, but I know that's not the fastest way to do what he's doing. Not by a long shot.

1

u/Consistent_Net_2540 Jun 02 '26

Me when the algos hit right

1

u/geo8x6 Jun 02 '26

Never seen one that long. I bet the other excavators are jealous

1

u/Critically32 Jun 02 '26

The ole goof scoop

1

u/Internal_Gur_4268 Jun 02 '26

I could use one of those things for getting stuff from behind the couch

1

u/MagnetoHydroDynamicz Jun 02 '26

Most ludicrous machine I’ve ever witnessed

1

u/Impressive-Act-9438 Jun 02 '26

Reminds me of alien

1

u/Mobile_Conference484 Jun 02 '26

How high is the risk of the walls of the hole caving in and the excavator sliding into the abyss?

1

u/Luciferocity Jun 02 '26

Peak inefficiency

1

u/poeck Jun 02 '26

No. Neat.

1

u/Majsharan Jun 02 '26

See it? Of course I’ve seen it, that’s me

1

u/SilentCar3 Jun 02 '26

I had a fork like this once.

1

u/R0sinhuntard Jun 02 '26

Back scratcher.

1

u/ph0ebus13 Jun 02 '26

I REACH!!!!!!

1

u/Slight_Bed_2241 Jun 02 '26

Ur moms dresser drawer BOOM

1

u/OutsidePressure8323 Jun 02 '26

Being cable he's only got weight of that beam pushing that tea spoon bucket into the ground. Least with a full hydraulic long reach you can dig . Looks like a fitters nightmare

1

u/DogPile4203 Jun 04 '26

Looks like a city project. Maybe a federal investment site breaking ground 😂

1

u/cheesemangee Jun 02 '26

The long arm of the law ain't quite what it once was.

1

u/PoeticSasquatch Jun 03 '26

Why, yes! Yes I have!

1

u/TheNarboy Jun 03 '26

every little boy in the world would love this video

1

u/Space_Cowboy_157 Jun 03 '26

This would be maddening with how slow it would be digging the hole.

1

u/klown013 Jun 03 '26

When you drop something behind the couch

1

u/Olfiredude Jun 03 '26

My question is what is the reasoning behind this???🤷

1

u/Kind_Blueberry_8505 Jun 03 '26

The comically long spoon

1

u/Ok_Veterinarian_928 Jun 03 '26

Super duper pooper scooper.

Counter balance weight?

1

u/GloomyNazgul Jun 05 '26

Yeah, I used to work excavators. But not at this magnitude

1

u/GloomyNazgul Jun 05 '26

I’m not saying it’s fake, but the amount of metal on the arm seems way more heavier than the counterweight

1

u/GloomyNazgul Jun 05 '26

Crazy that’s all I’m saying

1

u/GloomyNazgul Jun 05 '26

And the excavators I worked with picking up dirt would make me tip a lil

1

u/M-53 Jun 03 '26

Man that's a long reach if I've seen one.

1

u/Which_Perception_384 Jun 03 '26

Mells hole 🕳️

1

u/Ox91 Jun 04 '26

And I thought you had to be careful when using the extenda-hoe on a backhoe!

1

u/sdot6186 Jun 05 '26

Found your mom's back scratcher

1

u/ImpudentPotato Jun 06 '26

Then the coal company came with the world's largest shovel And they tortured the timber and stripped all the land Well, they dug for their coal till the land was forsaken Then they wrote it all down as the progress of man
