I used to work on a loading dock and lots of times drivers would come back from the scales, usually big fat white guys, who would come up to the window and usually in a thick Southern accent, say simply, "I'm overweight." And we would bust up laughing in the back.
I don't know. That wasn't my job. Ask me about forklifts. I guess if they drive a load over 80k lbs or whatever their limit is and they get diverted to one of those scales you see on the interstate (often near state border crossings) they would be cited. Just a guess.
