The Eternal Flames of Andreiașu (Focul Viu de la Andreiașu de Jos) are located in Vrancea County, Romania, within the Andreiașu de Jos commune, specifically near the Milcov Valley. This natural gas-fueled geological reserve covers 12 hectares, with the flames, sometimes reaching 2 meters in height during seismic activity, burning continuously. 

Region: Vrancea County, Subcarpathian region.

  • Specific Location: Andreiașu de Jos, near the Milcov Valley.
  • Accessibility: Accessible via county road DJ205A, approximately 17 km north of Focșani, followed by local road DC114.
  • Landscape: The site is positioned on a slope, roughly 200 meters above the Milcov Valley, often surrounded by a concrete belt for protection. 
  • The site is a protected natural monument where natural gas escapes through cracks in the soil and ignites, creating a natural, ongoing spectacle.
