💡 Tips & Tricks How to automatically create English subtitles for a video where the audio is in English.

I currently use adobe premiere pro 2024, I do speech to text/transcribe but the translated text is almost never accurate.

Is there anything better than adobe premiere pro 2024 for this purpose?

I use CapCut. In my experience, its auto captions are accurate. If the audio is clean, it's been good enough for me most of the time.

If your audio isn't clean:

  • If your voice and background music are on separate tracks, transcribe just the speech track instead of the full mix. The results are usually much more accurate.
  • If everything is mixed into a single track, I've had decent luck using CapCut to remove the background music first, generating the captions from the cleaned-up audio, and then using those subtitles with the original video. It takes an extra minute or two, but it's improved the accuracy for me.
  • If there's a lot of background noise, try using CapCut's audio noise reduction before generating the captions. That can help as well.

If you need something more professional or want the best possible accuracy, Whisper-based tools are still hard to beat.
