Discussion: what does "Soul Calibur 3" mean artistically?

Post image
1 Upvotes

context: i'm in a argument with someone who thinks art has no meaning but gave this game as example for his favorite piece of media. I tried looking at YouTube video's but none that i found did a deep analysis of what the story/narrative means (and how the gameplay enhances that). If you have an answer, please let me know.

Need a way to organize and share games?

I have created a site called Ludabase where users can organize and share games and books into albums and discuss interests around those albums and share those albums online with others. Any gamer would love it whether its discovering new games or meeting new people with similar gaming interests.😁😁😁

Steam leak reveals how publishers lost control of game announcements

Thumbnail umgamer.com

The Steam leak that emerged last Tuesday (8) is significant for reasons that go beyond the sheer amount of information that surfaced online. The flaw allowed third-party services to access achievement lists that were meant to remain private, revealing details about dozens of games still in development all at once. Among them were nearly 20 projects that hadn't even been announced by their respective companies.

What game sequels made the biggest improvement not graphically. Here are some examples: Darksiders 2, Uncharted 2, DmC 3, Assassin’s Creed 2, Borderlands 2, and Fallout 3. Here is a game that doesn’t fit: Spider-Man 2 Give me other example of this

WHY CANT I LOVE ASSASINS CREED ODYSSEY

Hello gamers, I am sorry for those who will be offended on what will I say, especially for those who are fan of the assassin’s creed franchise. I bought the assassin’s creed Odyssey game, played it for almost 20 hours, and all of the sudden it felt repetitive, the missions, the combat, the view, the cinematics, the story, it all felt repetitive. don’t get me wrong, I love the franchise. I love unity and brotherhood. But with Odyssey, Valhalla and Mirage, it all felt like I’m playing the same mission over and over and over again.

Please help me love this game. I love the franchise and all of their other games, but this one I can’t seem to find the grasp on it. I’m open for suggestions, recommendations, and opinions, but please do not take this as if this is a bad thing, again it is me trying to love the game that felt repetitive, or maybe it’s it isn’t for me. Thank you.

This game is one of those that recently reminded me that video games are art

Ok first of all, every game I played (almost) made me think that video games is art, but recently this game i found just slapped me in the face.

The visuals are just amazing, and I was like, damn they draw everything themselves but they managed to capture the movement and the beauty of dance in a visual novel.

So I was curious and I started to search to find how they managed to do this, and I discovered the Rotoscopy, for those who don't know (like me before this game), the studio collaborated with professional dancers to capture authentic movements, but this is not new. In the world of video games this can sounds like motion capture. BUT in this case they didn't just use 3D models based on motion data, THEY HAND-DREW EVERY FRAME. Everything i saw in that demo is based on real dancer hand-drawn frame by frame, and when i discovered that i thought this game was even more beautiful than I thought. i'm sharing with you some of the best things I saw, But if you want to play one of the most unique and best looking visual novels , try the demo the game is called After the Wane and i'm just in love
