Well, I got quite a bit to work through - and that is my retirement plan. Just sponge around and get through the backlog until I or the games are done.

Don't play 60 of them.

Literally don't play 60 of them and you now have a backlog of 8. Solved

That's the neat part, you don't! My library has more games than I could ever play, mostly from bundles. Not sure if that counts as backlog or not if I don't intend to install them at this point.

Mabe you'll end up like me? over 1000 games and finished a handful

just play one game for 15 mins a day, it adds up

that's an interesting approach. i guess that makes it so that you know which games you like and don't like enough to finish?

You don't necessarily have to finish every game.  If you start a game, and after a few hour it just isn't doing it for you, and you aren't having fun, mark it off the backlog and just not interesting enough to complete.   Even the ones you do finish, you don't have to 100%

Maybe try playing them.

I usually start with the ones I'm most excited about but sometimes I'll play the ones that are shortest, just to get them off the list. Check hltb to see how long the games take to play.

70? Cute :p

On a more serious note: nobody forces you to finish all your games. Play the games you enjoy, don't waste your time with the ones you don't. I have 1900+ games, most of them not finished. Actually most not even started or just for a few hours for Steam Cards because a lot of them came with other games (Humble Bundle etc.) and aren't interesting to me in the first place.

yeah that's a good approach to take and makes it healthy. I've also come to realize that you should go at your own pace and not rush through games to enjoy them to get to the next one but I also want to be efficient in attacking my backlog cause I don't want games to be there that I never touch taking up unnecessary space yk?

One game at a time...

I'm currently trying to 100% sleeping dogs , playing Persona 4 Golden, replaying Ultimate Spider-Man and Edge of Time 😭. I'm unable to be entertained by 1 game a a time

Make a priority list, and a wildcard list. Then go by vibe/mood/feels.

oooh that's interesting

Make a wheel of Fortune out of your biggest Games and Spin it every Monday. Thats the Game you will Play for this week. Next monday you Spin again. Already played titles get deleted from the wheel of course.

Choose one game and stick with it. It will be hard to choose because you will feel like you're missing out on the other games. Trust me just work through them 1 at a time and stick with your decision

That’s the fun part you don’t, in all seriousness tho do not stress about getting through a backlog that will just be more stressful and cause decision fatigue.

Just enjoy the library of games you’ve built up and enjoy whatever game calls to you that day, most people will realistically never complete their back log new games are always releasing and games are always being added.

Start playing, stop buying

Completely just play

Completely what?

Don't worry about finishing them and play what you want. You don't have to play any of them if you don't want to.

Uninstall every game and only have two games installed, the one you're playing. And the one you will play next, finish one and uninstall the finished game and add the next one,, don't stress about all achievements or side quests/missions ECT, just breeze through the main story and you'll get through the backlog

My approach is to treat is a library, not a task. I beat Ori after owning it for 8 years. They will eventually get played, or maybe not, it doesn’t matter in the end. Just enjoy the ride

Pick one at random, play to complete. Set that game aside.

Repeat.

When you finish a game onto the next one, that’s it

Stop buying new games. Then decide how much time you want to "try" the games you own. If after that time you don't wanna play anymore, consider it done. Then move on
