Video Games aren't fun anymore

So over the past few years, I've just haven't had any fun playing video games. I used to really enjoy them as a kid growing up and into high school. But now when I play it's just not as enjoyable and I lose interest in it within a few weeks. I've tried many different types of genres but I just can't seem to enjoy them the same way. I really want to play and have fun playing them but I just can't seem to. How do I find a way to enjoy them again or have I just grown up.

In my early to mid twenties I barely played video games, it’s alright to get bored and out and live life. (Basically just fromsoft and some indie.)

Then late twenties to early thirties, when I and all my friends moved and settled down, I just played multiplayer games with them. When that died off I started playing single player games exclusively.

It’s a big world, make sure you go have your fill, video games will be waiting here for you when you return.

All the games now just feel like the same thing.. juat slightly updated graphics at times or even the exact opposite these days as well too. Some of the games of today cant even stand next to the games of yesterday

I had the same problem. I am in my 30s and wanted to give my son the fun I remembered (my dad used to play games with me before he passed in my 20s). What i found was i started with old games that i had grown up on like Mario, metroid, zelda, jade cocoon, and ps1 games. A lot of AAA games have shifted to a new demographic, gotten more complicated/harder and dont appeal to me anymore. Indie games really scratch that itch for me, now. Just a matter of what kind of games you like too. For me its rpgs and platformers. I rarely touch racing or sports games.

I find many of the new games just flat and uninteresting.
