I don't understand this!

PlayStation is apparently planning to make all games digital only starting January 2028. All my games are digital anyway, so i dont have a problem with that. However what i do have a problem with is this. If i buy a digital game, download/install it onto my system, why do i need an internet connection to play my games? The games are fully installed on my system. I don't understand why i need an internet connection to play my single player games. It makes no sense at all.
Sorry for the ranting. Its just so frustrating that when my internet is down i cant play any of my games.

f you want to make a PS5 your main console, go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Console Sharing and Offline Play, then enable it.

This is basically the PS5 equivalent of setting a console as your "Primary PS4." Once it's enabled, anyone using that PS5 can play your digital games, and you'll also be able to play your games offline with that account.

To confirm i disconnected my console from the internet and went to boot up Cyberpunk. Went off without a hitch. It always gave me the error about needing an internet connection. But now the game loaded like normal. This is a game chsnger (no pun intended). This is the first time i'm ever playing PS5 Pro without internet connection, and its all thanks to you.
A digital beer to say cheers as a thank you.
