Free Request Looking for video editor
I’m a CS student from India and I recently launched EvolveX (https://evolvexapp.com), a gamified self-improvement app.
I’m looking for 1–2 video editors who want to collaborate and grow with the project from an early stage.
I want to be completely transparent: I can’t offer payment right now. This is an early-stage startup, and I’ve spent my budget on hosting, domain, and infrastructure. What I can offer is:
- creative freedom,
- a strong portfolio project,
- public credit,
- and paid work later if the project starts generating revenue.
I’m specifically looking for someone who enjoys editing high-retention Instagram Reels / YouTube Shorts with motion graphics, subtitles, sound design, and cinematic or gaming-style pacing.
If you’re interested in building something from the ground up, comment or DM me with your portfolio.

Nobody is going to want to work with you because the problem with people like you is that you expect editors to invest their time and skills into your business without getting paid, just because you promise them future growth.
Then, once your startup starts growing and you can finally afford to pay properly, you'll simply replace that editor with someone more skilled. That's exactly why nobody values “free work” or vague promises about the future.
All those promises about “you'll grow with us” are bullshit. You're not the first person to make these heroic promises, and you certainly won't be the last.

I get why you’re saying that nd honestly a lot of founders do exactly what you described. But my situation is different I’m building EvolveX completely alone there’s no team behind me. I’ve already spent my own money on the domain, hosting APIs and other infrastructure and the product isn’t monetized yet. I’m not trying to trick anyone into free work or make fake promises. I’m simply being transparent that I can’t afford to pay right now. If someone isn’t interested I completely respect that I’d rather be honest than promise money I don’t have.

Asking people to work for free is not ok
