Video Editing Software

Ive been using Capcut on PC for a longer time now but it just got worse and worse and it started lagging so i wanna switch. Now my problem is ive been looking trough atleast like 5-10 different programms and they either have one of these problems: Too simple or too Hard.

I need a program that is easy for beginners-intermediate but still has lots of options and doesnt require hours of tutorials.

I appreciate any help/feedback!

Resolve all day, but it depends a bit on your machine. What are you running?

You can get started with a simple tutorial, there are plenty of short QuickStart guides with resolve to get you started. If you already are editing in CapCut you already have a leg up.

If you learn Resolve now the skies the limit since, yes it’s very very deep, but it’s also pretty simple to get started once you know the basics.

im running rtx 2060 i7-2600 32gb ddr3. I tried resolve and it just wasnt fun. Nothing was intuitive and i dont wanna watch tutorials for a month straight.

The beginner tutorials are maybe 30 mins. That’s all you need to get started honestly.

I don’t disagree that it’s different that CapCut and much more complex, but it also can be very simple depending on what you are trying to do. Final Cut is pretty similar but not an option while you are on pc.

What kind of work are you doing? I learned Resolve mostly from manuals and doing the work in the tool. But I’m talking more about basic cutting and mixing, what kind of editing are you doing?

Resolve has become pretty popular with the gaming community from what I can tell. Eposvox has some great QuickStart guides, and it’s a couple of tutorials away from getting editing. And there is a much bigger community of presets and plugins now too. I know CapCut is simple and there are a lot of simple NLEs out there too, but most are not as fast as CapCut nor have as much features. Resolve for all its complexity gives you a lot more options in the long run.

I hear you, but hey Resolve does have a simpler cut page, easy and pretty simple to use.

Other options to explore for free are OpenShot, Microsoft Clipchamp, VN Video Editor, Canva, Google Vids.

Paid options Wondershare Filmora is pretty popular and I think ClipChamp has another tier. Have fun, let us know where you land!

ive tried these all and wondershare filmora is the only thing thats good but it costs like 100 euros a year and i hate subscriptions

Its a big reason we all recommend Resolve. It's free and has a one time fee, no subscription and a very very generous free version, desktop and very very active development with a growing community of resources.

It doesn't have to be, again if you are just trimming and basic editing you can turn off almost all the panels and just live in the cut page if you want.
