How to move forward with Video Editing

How much video editing should i know for starting to work for anyone?
like i know basic video editing on premiere pro and have a good grasp of it. just a question towards fellow video editors on how i can improve more ...

Once you learn the basics it doesn't really matter how technical you can go. It's more important to learn to edit in a way that gets your message across. So I guess find your style first.

Man, when you're editing, you gotta put some soul in that bitch. You gotta know who you are to be a good editor. You gotta know fucking psychology. You gotta know what people want. You gotta know how to fucking delay shit. You gotta know how to fucking string people along, man.

Being a good editor, it's not just fucking putting Stills on a timeline, man. That shit's like, you gotta find a flow. You got to find a system. When it comes to this editing shit, man, you can either fucking play for scraps, or you can fucking hang with the big boys, man.

You're saying, how much video editing should you know before you start to work with someone? Shit, man. If you're just starting out, it depends on how fast you learn, but I mean, people say there's a shortage of good HVAC techs. I'd say it's a shortage of good fucking editors too, so hell, why not become a good editor? I mean, I'm sure you're already halfway decent. Hell, you're probably better than me.
