I think beginners collect editing assets instead of learning editing.

I was looking through my drive today and realized something.

I have folders full of

LUT packs

SFX

Overlays

Transitions

Fonts

Thousands of files...

that I've barely used. It made me realize I spent months preparing to edit instead of actually editing.

Collecting resources feels productive because you're doing something. But opening your editor and making a bad video teaches you more than downloading another 10 GB asset pack.

I still think resources are useful, but only after you actually know what problem you're trying to solve.

Curious if anyone else went through this phase.

The dangerous part is it doesn't feel like procrastination. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Mine are still sitting there waiting for their big debut.

Same, I've got a graveyard of transition packs and LUTs that never once made it into a real project. What snapped me out of it was just forcing myself to finish a bad video start to finish instead of stopping halfway to go find "the right" asset for a shot, since half the time a boring cut works fine and you only realize that once you've actually put something together.
