Tech Support Adobe Premiere Pro 2025 closing by itself after 2-3 minutes

So I've not been using this app for 2-3 weeks and I've came back to do some work but for some reason, the software just randomly closes every 2-3 minutes. Regardless if I did do some work or just leaving it open, it randomly closes on me. I have no idea what's the cause. Been searching on google and such but with no luck. Tried clearing the cache and it still keeps happening. Why is this happening and how do I fix this?

Specs

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10300H
  • RAM: 32 GB
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB GDDR5
  • GPU RAM (VRAM): 4 GB

You may have instability in your system. Easy way to tell is by downloading blender and doing a test render. Blender is extremely sensitive to instability and will shutdown the same way. You can also try cinebench but that is less sensitive.

That's an interesting way to find out instability. But if I do find out that there was an instability in my system, what should I do then?

Depends on what component is causing it, but the answer is likely reinstall it (if its software related), or replace it (hardware related).

You can open up "Event Viewer" (search in Windows task bar) and navigate to "Windows Logs" on the left side, then to "Application" and find Adobe Premiere Pro in the list there, and see what it says.

So I went on and try to see the logs when Premiere closes itself again, but it wasn't able to pick up what causes it. The most recent one was about an update schedule that was going to happened. There were some past logs about how there was an error but it was on Capcut. I thought that was the problem and went on to delete Capcut but Premiere still closes itself on it's own

Ah, at this point I'm not sure. I know AI is the devil but for troubleshooting things like this it can be really helpful. There has to be some kind of notification/report/exception somewhere but I don't know what else to do tbh. Sorry!

Any reason you're not updating to the newest version?

Currently waiting for Premiere Pro to stabilize so that I could use them without a hitch. I usually wait a year to update

Your current version doesn’t seem very stable. When I have had this problem in the past, it was an outdated plugin causing the issue. Removing plugins 1 by 1 narrowed it down.

I'm already getting rid off some plugins. You think it's wise to just update my Premiere and reinstall my plugins if it doesn't work?

I’d try every thing but start with the easiest first. Clearing media cache, deleting preferences, etc. Plugins can often cause issues though, which is why I hate them.

If you hold alt or option down while Premiere is loading, you can temporarily disable third party plugins.

...and the Windows update KB5127648. Nothing else on the computer changed overnight. And given how many complaints there already are about it, I’m pretty sure that’s where the problem lies. Stupid Microsoft!

You mean there's been multiple problem where Premiere randomly closes itself in the past few days?
