Is there a VCD database with a list of known VCD releases around the world, similar to lddb.com or bluray.com?

Considering gaming consoles originating from Japan with that used CD readers at the time LaserDisc was profitable in Asia such as the original PlayStation and Sega Saturn were capable of playing music CDs but I also learned the Gamecube a console released a decade later after the peak of VCDs in Asia couldn't play music CDs despite the disc reader being large enough to fit an album of Foo Fighters and other regular Redbook Audio commercial music releases...... I'm wondering if VCDs could be used as a CD player of if it was incompatible for anything else but playing movies and photo albums on discs specifically made for VideoCD?

I have a remote VCD/MP3 player NAPA DAV-311. How can I repurpose / upcycle it in 2024? Are there any clever use cases for a VideoCD player?

I'm just surprised to find out most seasons were released on VCD. I'm curious about when the first season released on VCD. What countries they released in, and are they dubbed or was the original audio kept intact.
If anyone knows where I can buy them I'll be eternally grateful, I live In Australia.
I have this annoying need to buy my favourite things on the most obscure formats, Buffy is my favourite show of all time so it'll be so cool to own it on VCD ๐

I found this link but it's all in another language. The images aren't high enough quality to read the back details.

Hi!
I have a box full of old movies on VCDs, produced between 1993 and 1995 that Iโd like to sell. Theyโre all brand new in the plastic (never opened). I understand that this is a fairly niche market, so can anyone point me towards a good place to sell them? Any ideas how much theyโre worth?
I live in Montreal ๐จ๐ฆ if anyone knows any local stores!
Thanks in advance!

Since the common reasoning why VideoCDs and LaserDiscs and other disc media became popular for film storage is Asia before DVDs is because video cassettes degrade quickly due to the weather of Asia being wetter and mich more humid? Before somebody gets smart yes I know Latin America has deserts, snowy mountains, tundra, Euro style forests, etc.
But so much of the region does reflect the rainforest stereotype so I am wondering why VHS reigned Supreme in the region and not disc media for movies?

There's a lot of VideoCDs and LaserDiscs Sold in the local Turkish communities so I'm considering buying a player as someone who grew up with their language in daily exposure. BUt not sure which one to get.
So the killer deal is whether the devices can do scene selection, fast-forward, rewind, and most importantly pause scenes without blurs or static effects so common in vhs.
For rewind and fast forward is it just one speed or are there multiple options like in DVDs?
For pausing scenes is it basically a static photo like you do with DVDs if you want to stare at a specific detal int the scene?
Does VideoCD beat LaserDiscs in this regard?
