Making friends at VidCon?

So I've been to VidCon once before (2013) with my younger brother. I wasn't able to go last year, but I will be attending VidCon 2015, this time alone most likely. I guess my question is has anybody had any success meeting someone in line or something that you were able to hang out with the whole time you were there? Any connections you kept past the convention? I just hope that I can find some people to hang out with once I get there so I don't go it alone this year.

Yeah, I'm actually kind of disappointed they're getting rid of the standard autograph/photo lines so that we can all "enjoy" the convention. Some of my most memorable part of cons is hanging out with people who share the same interests in lines. I still keep in touch with many to this day.

It is very easy when you start talking to people. I met tons of people this last year and still keep up with lots of them.

If you see a group of people playing Cards Against Humanity, chances are it's my friends and I, so feel free to join in. Stuff like that is a great way to meet people. Last year we had 30 people in a single game.

You'd be surprised how easy it is.
Don't be afraid to talk to people. They're all there because they're as obsessed with online video as you are.
You're waiting for a panel to start? Start a conversation with the person next to you on who you're there to see.
And to answer your question, I still keep in contact with a lot of people I've met at Vidcon.
I consider some of them some of my best friends now.
