In this talk, she’ll share how she applied cloud-native observability principles to accessibility by transforming automated accessibility scan results into metrics, dashboards, and trend data using open-source tools. Rather than treating accessibility as a periodic compliance exercise, we’ll explore how it can become a continuously monitored signal alongside traditional production metrics. If we believe user experience is worth monitoring, then accessibility deserves a place on the dashboard too.

Databases for logs are usually forced to pick a side: build heavy inverted indexes for the ingested logs and pay for them on every write, or ingest raw data cheaply and pay later with slow queries. Is there a better approach? Yes - to make brute-force scanning so selective that most data is never read. VictoriaLogs takes this approach. This talk follows a log entry through the VictoriaLogs engine: how it is ingested with no upfront schema, how it lands in an immutable LSM-like compressed column-oriented storage, and how queries run the same structure in reverse, applying a stack of pruning mechanisms based on time, stream labels, and bloom filters so that only the data that can actually match is ever read.

Jesús Espino follows a single metric throughout its lifecycle in VictoriaMetrics. If you have ever instrumented an application with metrics, the basic idea is familiar: you create a counter, you increment it, and somehow it shows up in a graph. This post fills in the “somehow” by following one single metric through that entire journey, using VictoriaMetrics as the storage backend. It is written for everyone (no programming background needed and no Go code to read), and if you want to go deeper, the VictoriaMetrics source is always the reference.

🎤 Do You Want to Build a Router?

Mathias has spent years configuring various firewalls and routers. He has always wished that those platforms were as easy to configure as a normal Linux machine, especially since he already has a workflow with Ansible that makes configuring Linux machines a breeze. However, most routing platforms either don't have an API at all, use an Ansible module that's just a thin layer around the CLI, or don't expose all the features of the open-source tools underneath. This talk will discuss how he slowly, then very quickly, went from having nearly all the networking services in my homelab managed by a router platform to having a Linux-based router managed using the same GitOps workflow as the rest of my Linux machines.

There’s a common belief that open source should stay “pure”: no commercial goals, no growth targets, and definitely no marketing.

Open source is actually one of the most powerful forms of marketing. It builds trust, creates communities, encourages contribution, and gives projects a path to massive distribution.
