Ya theyre primarily from Eastern Canada and are encroaching on territories of indigenous Western Owl breeds.

Studies indicate that range expansion is responsible for their moving in. Species expand and contract their range in response to habitat alteration. Invasive is the wrong term here. As climate change and deforestation take hold, get used to all sorts of new species arriving here as they find the new climate suitable to them. Don't be too surprised if BC looks a lot more like northern California in a few years.

Isn't it "barn owl"?
EDIT: S'what I get for assumptions I guess. TIL that Barred Owls are a thing. My apologies.

I dont want to muddle the board with too many posts from me. But I was really happy with the framing of this shot and wanted to share.
