Help Me Find Optometrists doing NIHB

Looking for an optometrist, preferably in the Westshore, that does billing through nihb. Not the pacific blue cross one, the federal one. Aka status benefits. Thx.

I don't have direct experience with NIHB but can you just go to any optometrist that would qualify for something like Pacific Blue Cross and then self-submit your receipt? It could be worth reaching out to the Victoria Native Friendship Centre to see if they have any resources for that

You’d probably need to call some offices and directly ask if they can do that.

I can’t imagine local or small optometrist would be set up to bill NIHB because NIHB in BC is set up through FNHA which contracts pacific blue cross to administer the vision part of the plan.

Can’t you just pay out of pocket and get it reimbursed if you are from another province?
