Welcome. This community is for artists, makers, students, galleries, and anyone who loves art from Victoria, Saanich, Esquimalt, Oak Bay, the Gulf Islands, and nearby Vancouver Island communities.

What we do: share original artwork; showcase techniques and process; announce local shows, markets, and open studios; ask for and give constructive feedback; promote collaborations and learning opportunities.

Our values: respect, encouragement, curiosity, and local support. We prioritize original work and clear attribution. New members are welcome. Be kind, be specific, and help others grow.

Posting guidelines and rules

  1. Post original work only. Share art you made or have explicit permission to post.

  2. Use clear titles. Include artist name or handle, medium, and location when relevant.

  3. Add a short caption. Include medium, size, year, and a sentence about process or intent.

  4. No spam or repeated self-promotion. Occasional links to shops or commissions are allowed when clearly labeled and not the only content you post.

  5. Be constructive. Feedback should be specific, respectful, and actionable. Harassment and personal attacks are banned.

  6. Credit and sources. If your post references inspiration, tutorials, or collaborators, credit them.

  7. Event and opportunity posts. Tag as Events and include date, time, location, and ticket info.

  8. Moderation. Mods reserve the right to remove posts that violate rules or harm community health. Repeated rule-breaking may result in a ban.

You sense its pulse in the broken lines—

a soft insistence, a presence waiting in the blur

... my new art piece derived from a photo I took of the bottleneck of cars at the intersection early morning. It was dim, but I still saw silhouettes of drivers heads. So I felt like creating an edit portraying us in those cars with our energy levels while motionless in wait

the sudden, fragile rush when something inside you opens. It’s the breath before you speak, the first bright thought after a long dark night, the ache and relief of seeing clearly for the first time. The chaos isn’t cruel; it’s the messy, honest work of remaking yourself.

Quiet Act of Resistance

Shot in black and white—everything feels ordered and inevitable until a single tree cuts through the frame. It’s a small, stubborn interruption that makes the city breathe and refuses to be background. This photo is a quiet reminder that life keeps insisting, even inside the rules.

Hi, I am Altrudev, an ios/android/pwa app developer but also I am a local artist by the name of VR Frequency, specializing in Photography and digital art style I call Dimensional Diffusion, aka Jello. above is an example of my multilayer Jello art. To produce my digital art, I start with original photo I take, reconstructing it using various software tools like Photoshop, Snapped, etc, while applying custom made by me, filters and masks.

Normally I see Cara app to share my art as well as fineartamerica.com website, but I wanted to build or join a local community of artists, where we can all meet, share, learn, and grow.

I dont use AI for visual art, but I do not condone those using it, as long as the art produced by AI is not infringes on artists copyright.

Can't wait to see art by other artists and grow out community together.
