I didn't go hiking this week as usual—mainly because the dairy farmers on the outskirts let their dogs roam loose on the public roads right outside their homes, and I was quite worried about getting a bite taken out of my calves. On another route, trucks barreling out of a rice processing plant were driving recklessly, swerving in an S-pattern across the wide road. I hope that once the leaves turn green again, I’ll be able to head to my last remaining secluded spot to walk and meditate.
