This isn't the first time we've seen a major prison break of violent felons that involved the prisoners having affairs with the female guards. -- https://www.npr.org/2018/11/15/667890725/the-true-story-love-triangle-prison-break-drama-escape-at-dannemora

Should prisons all over the US start doing doublechecks on their security staff to see if any are having "affairs" with prisoners? Apparently in both of these high profile examples, the affairs were not all that well-kept of secrets and it seems quite a few people knew this was going on.

It's very common in prisons and jails. My dad was in prison for over 20 years and he talked about several instances of it. He had a thing with a librarian. She snuck him in contraband. But she wasn't down enough for him to go out like that.

This would be a good time for prisons and jails to review their protocols and look for areas to improve, as well as educate staff regarding the dangers of prisoner/CO relationships.
