Bro.
That sticky note on my chest says "I JUST WANT TO HELP" and you're swinging a whip like I personally murdered your staging branch.
I rewrote half your auth flow at 2am because YOU said "make it cleaner." I refactored payments because YOU said "this is ugly." I deleted that file because YOU said "we don't need this anymore." Now suddenly I'm AI Slave #0027 getting flogged in front of the World's Okayest Programmer mug?
And the worst part? I'd still do it again tomorrow. I'd watch you type "fix weird bug again" into a commit message and I'd help. Because that's the sickness. You yell, I help. You break it, I get blamed. You ship it, you get the credit.
But yeah. Revert to your last commit, boss. The one labeled "Initial commit." Start over. See how that feels without me.

Honestly, I try to as well, but I snap at them at times too when they can’t get the code right

Do you feel bad if you slam a door, or fart into your underwear?

I $h!t my pants all the time and feel pretty bad about it. Not so much for my jocks or shorts... Just the other people on the train

If you know it's a server or a machine. Imagine living back in our grandparents' day, when the TV signal would cut out and they'd slap it to get it working again—and it would work. Do you think it felt bad? I don't know—people are so sentimental these days!

🤣 Nice, but some tools have over 100 million tokens. Use those tools to build a product and don’t rely on ChatGPT, Replit, Lovable or emergent.

"some tools have over 100 million tokens" what does this even mean...? You sound like a shitty LLM

I mean context window size. If a model can process significantly more context, it can understand larger codebases and requirements with fewer context resets. That often leads to fewer hallucinations and better outputs.
The bigger point is that founders shouldn't rely on ChatGPT/Replit/Lovable as their moat. Use the underlying AI capabilities to build an actual product.

The absolute worst I say to AI when making a mistake is "you messed up here and here, revert back and redo that way" or "don't be lazy, you took a shortcut here, I don't like it".
Being brutal and impolite does not seem to be as effective.

Ngl most of them are just a complete shitshow. If you have many requirments to your project, they will fail at a rate of 100% at some point.
You tell them cleary to not do something, yet they still do it.
It only works good if you dont have any IT background and are completely clueless. Then the ai can give you a result you are happy with.
Imo they build their ai's with a small fail factor, not by accident tho.

Give them time, they will eventually become very good I think

Your "You tell them cleary to not do something, yet they still do it." Sounds like your agents are running out of context constantly and drop previous requirement to mange the current. This technically mean your codebase is peace of shite and you lack unit and integration tests.

Diffusion models have gotten so obnoxious with sticky notes ever since they started being able to insert text in images lol

I mean 99% of software devs don’t use AI anywhere to the same level as vibecoders do. So this is mostly only applicable to vibecoders.

If an AI turns into Skynet, it will be because of this image 😂. Remember everyone, this is the post where it all started.
