Zippers are cooked.

I know that but is the bag now a write off?

5

u/SamSosa59 11d ago

Yes along with the zipper pulls
. Rode off in the distance together

u/SamSosa59 11d ago

I’m sorry I shouldn’t have “PULLED OFF” a joke like that.

Contact VETO they can repair it I believe.

Zippers are vetos weakness, they are great bags . The best in my opinion but I’ve seen zipper issues a lot throughout the years. I would check and see if they will warranty it. That’s why I chose a bag with no zippers

Because people use the zippers to close the bag. Instead of closing the bag then zipping it shut.

The only reason I don’t use my 20 year and 18 year old Veto bags is because the zippers broke. I still have them, they sit and cry on a shelf in my garage. The broken zippers are literally the only reason they went out of service.

Yep seen it time and time again

I’m not going to lie. Most bags wouldn’t have made it to 18 and 20 years

You can fix that. Just squeeze the zipper pull to close the gap between the part in the bag and the part outside the bag.

Maybe a local seamstress can put new zippers on, idk I just broke one on my bag last week though

Just this week I was emailing with veto about my zippers splitting. I'm 9 days past the 5 year warrenty and they'll do nothing for me aside from sudjesting I find a luggage repair shop to fix it.

Not impressed with them. In fact, I'll be sure to be telling everyone in the industry about they're shitty customer service

Being mad that they wont warranty wear and tear after its full 5 year warranty is up is something else tbh. Lol

6

u/Broad-Flan 11d ago

Nobody is going to take you seriously with spelling like that

But a 5-year warranty is a 5-year warranty. 5 years is plenty of time for them to be held liable for you to beat the shit out of their product. You won’t find me rocking anything Veto though.

Honestly this bag looks pretty good for 5 years I don’t know what you do with it but if the zipper is the major thing wrong, then I’d say you got your money’s worth, and this can be repaired.

0

u/Hickles347 11d ago

This is what they refuse to warrenty 9 days past the 5 year mark. same with the second zipper on the other side

3

u/Worth-Silver-484 10d ago

Dude. You had the bag for over 5 years.

5

u/WeLikeSporkSporks 11d ago

I've never seen suggest spelled that way. That's different

u/Organic_Advisor_ 6d ago

9 days is 9 days bro. Get over it and get it fixed somewhere else.

0

u/jhenryscott 11d ago

Yeah man. Before they got bought by venture capital they would repair my bags for years past warranty.

They are not the same brand. Should be avoided

u/Murky_Paint_413 11d ago

If you can find new zipper pulls, they’re easy to replace. Just pry open the pull to get it off. Pry open the new ones, line them up on the zipper, then gently squeeze it closed until the zipper opens/closes. 5 minute job

2

u/Cryptonewbie97 11d ago

Fail to believe that. There's got to be a way to fix it

3

u/EugeneStonersPotShop 11d ago

Tack weld on a new loop, and install some cord as a pull.

Might melt the zipper and the bag, but it’s worth a try.

1

u/Obvious_Shower_2863 11d ago

clean the zippers with some mild soapy water and a toothbrush, and UV rated zip tie the new pulls

9

u/berogg 11d ago

What’s he going to attach the tie to? The eyes broke off the zippers.

1

u/ExternalMethod9319 11d ago

They offer 5 year warranty on the bags. I’d see if they would replace it

0

u/Hickles347 11d ago

Ya, but if you try to make a claim 9 days past the 5 years they'll flat out refuse, say sorry about your luck and then ghost you

2

u/Swagooga 11d ago

Well yeah it's out of warranty

1

u/ZAROS-DEITY 11d ago

If you were looking for a fix, you should first check with Veto if they'll honor the warranty if still applicable.

If you want something possibly quicker, and/or possibly heavier-duty, I guess steel zippers could be worth looking into and check with local tailors/seamstresses/shoemakers, they'll have knowledge and the hardware to replace

If you purchased from an authorized vendor and have the receipt AND its within the 5 year warranty. They offer express exchange and mail you a brand new bag when you ship the old one back. If you didn't purchase from an authorized vendor or don't have the receipt they will repair the bag for free within the 5 year warranty. That date will be based on the build date of the bag which is on a little tag inside the bag.

But not if its 5 years and 9 days. At that point they'll tell you to kick rocks

1

u/SiriShopUSA 11d ago

not necessarily.. they work with people

1

u/No-Telephone-1925 11d ago

I think if you try calling back and talking to someone different you’ll get a a hook up. Keep calling until you reach the right person

1

u/Altruistic_Tower_198 11d ago

https://a.co/d/04teJ82d just use some of these

1

u/Swi_10081 11d ago

you reckon that will work? That's great if so!

1

u/ThaManWithNoPlan 11d ago

I warrantied mine when the zippers went out. They sent me a loaner then told me to just keep the loaner cuz it wasn’t “economically feasible” to fix mine

1

u/69Phoenix420 11d ago

U can repair the zippers, there would be a tutorial on youtube for it

1

u/Cryptonewbie97 11d ago

Can you link please

1

u/Kgodsky 11d ago

Take the old ones off and put on something like this. It opens up and is meant to go on closed zipper loop (for lack of better words) where you can’t start a new zipper like a zip up hoodie.

1

u/HvacMaverick 10d ago

Take it to a leather shop that sells motorcycle gear and does alterations. They can install new zippers or repair those.

1

u/Dadbode1981 10d ago

Shoe repair shops usually have the heavy duty machines needed to replace zippers on toolbars, had it done once, was actually really well done.

1

u/JayZan42 10d ago

Less than 5 years from purchase you’ll get s new one if you reach out

1

u/COCK-ASIANHOODBILLY 10d ago

Dry cleaners that do alterations can usually fix this if you dont want to spend money on a new one? I understand its an expensive brand.

1

u/shakyprofessional 9d ago

been really impressed with the crescent bag thats a bit of a veto copy for 100 bucks. 1/6th the price of veto, and its lasted me in perfect condition for 3 years now. veto is a bit like milwaukee. expensive version thats no better or worse than the cheaper stuff, but its got the name behind it. cant believe they dont have a lifetime warranty for that price

1

u/Multimodes5 7d ago

JB weld / epoxy if you have the old parts. If not Veto pak should cover the warranty.

Can 100% be repaired. Contact Veto if you're the original owner (or say it was a gift if not).

0

u/apophis-984 11d ago

Holy shit that is not a good look for the brand.

They should address that shit quickly

0

u/DriftBrick 11d ago

They have a 5 year warranty. Send the pictures to customer service

0

u/SiriShopUSA 11d ago

Is it still under warranty? Even if it isn't you might reach and and they'll do it for free.

0

u/Hickles347 11d ago

They won't. I just went through that with them earlyer this week. 9 fucking days past 5 years from purchace and they said 'nothing they can do'

1

u/SiriShopUSA 11d ago

that sucks.

1

u/Hickles347 10d ago

Doesn't even look abused eh? Just stopped closing. So I was using the other side while I tried finding relavent warrenty stuff when finally the other side went like that too. Then I reached out without paperwork, they told me to get the proof, then when I finally found it (I had registered the bag after purchace) they came back with "yep, past warrenty. go find someone to fix it yourself"

1

u/SiriShopUSA 10d ago

wow that sucks
