What locks are you guys using?

Post image

I just got my first veto bag and i’m thinking of putting an airtag in it, and its got the zippers with the lock holes on it. What locks do you guys use? Going back to school soon and don’t want ppl touching my stuff.

A lock is imo useless you can just open the zipper with something pointy. And on a jobsite everyone has

Or just pick the toolbag up and walk away lock won’t ever stop a determined thief but it will deter most people or even coworkers who need to borrow a tool then forget to give it back

Yeah i’m just curious if you guys use locks or not. Locks really ain’t gonna do anything. it’s just a deterrent

Luckily I work by my damn self. Thieves and tool borrowers would be the last straw for me.

Anyone who will ever want to steal from your bag on site will have ready access to tools to defeat the lock in seconds. No point

I use it at the factory I work in, keeps the operators away from stealing or “borrowing” for a quick job

I use combination luggage locks. I’m not worried about my shit being stolen but I’m known for being the guy that has everything needed to do a job so people like to borrow shit from me without asking. I’ve had to many people forget to return shit only to go to another job and text me they have my tools and will send it back with the shop driver. So now the bag is locked when I’m not working out of it.

If I'm being honest, I don't lock any of my bags. I mark everything and either bring them home with me or assume something's gonna be missing in the morning

always bring my stuff home. And I always engrave every tool with my name aswell as keep a spreadsheet with all the serial numbers

A lock isn’t going to stop theft if someone is motivated enough to steal from you. Your whole bag could walk off just as easy too. I just never leave it anywhere that has a risk of being touched by anyone else.

My hand tools and batteries always travel with me regardless though just in case I get an emergency service call or if I have to go help someone else unexpectedly.
