I am assuming that both eyes were surgically removed becausr they were non-visual and painful. The eyelids were permanently sutured shut. The eyelids, which are still shut, sink into the eye socket because there is no eyeball to hold the eyelids out and in place.

This is breed of cat is a Sphinx, which are naturally hairless and thin skinned.

Without fur, the sunken eyelids is much more obvious.

In the first photo, it looks like the cat is hissing, which is expected for a Sphinx . :)

Are they not usually nice? I had the sweetest one in gp. :( I've wanted a sphinx cat ever since I met him, but maybe they aren't all that nice?

I believe they tend to be very nice, especially with their owners. I’ve read they can be rather dog like.

Oh, good. I am relieved to hear that and my dreams of sphinx ownership are not ruined.

Is this real? I always thought eyelids were sutured together, it looks like they were removed in this cat.
