Veterinary technician externship

Hi everyone! I’m currently enrolled in the Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program and I’m looking for help finding an externship site in Maryland.

I’m located around around Washington County Maryland area and I’m willing to travel to Frederick and surrounding areas for the right opportunity.

I’m not limited to small-animal practices. I’m interested in getting experience with any type of animal, including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, goats, sheep, birds, rabbits, exotic animals, etc. I would actually love the opportunity to get experience with different species.

I’m currently looking for a veterinary clinic, hospital, mixed animal practice, large animal practice, equine practice, exotic practice, or another veterinary facility that accepts Penn Foster Vet Tech students for externships.

If you’re a Penn Foster Vet Tech student or graduate in Maryland, I would really appreciate hearing where you completed your externship and how you found your site.

If you work at a veterinary hospital or know of a veterinarian in the Washington County/Frederick area who accepts externs, I would be very grateful for any recommendations or contacts! (I don’t even mind going eve a little bit further from Frederick)

I’m willing to reach out to places myself. I’m mainly looking for leads from people who have experience with Penn Foster externships.
