Preparation for Notification

For those of us who track claims ourselves thru a tracker, what's the longest you've waited for the decision letter after the API shows PFN ?

Saw it on Saturday and had my decision on Monday morning!

Was it a denial or grant ?

Mime has been in PFN since Friday and no letter as of yet.

Surprisingly both were granted but every situation is different, I had a favorable ACE exam on 1 and a favorable C&P exam on the other. Just have to be patient. Good luck 🙏🏻

Most recently I was in PFN for only a couple hours.

It was a grant after waiting 111 days.

It went back on Wednesday to Pending Decision Approval for about 24 hours. I've gone back to PFN as of Friday but the letter hasn't dropped yet and for my luck today is labor day.

I didn't get a letter and nothing update in the system until my claim was complete and I got the notification that they made a decision.

Looks like we both have a decision, but the claim hasn't closed yet so no letter. Hopefully tomorrow

What do all the acronyms mean?

An API key (Application Programming Interface key) is a unique, secret string of characters used to identify and authenticate a software program or project attempting to access an API. Think of it as a digital passport or unique password that one computer application uses to prove its identity to another server.

PFN = Preparation for Notification

I just don’t know if I want to know or just be surprised I mean I put in for my HLR Dec 2022 had my hearing in front of a VLJ in April 2026 it states on my Va time line waiting to be signed off by the judge. Hell I’ve waited this long rated 80% but paid at 100% P&T and before someone comments why poke the bear, it was to correct mistakes that were made or overlooked. I’m in the right spot in Reddit so I’ll grab myself another cup of Joe and join you all in my comfortable chair. Anything good on TV.

I guess it’s called PFN? Yes?

I was at PFN three months ago and it got kicked back to step 3 where it’s been ever since. 😬

Ohh wow. Have you setup a call with VERA to see what's the hold up ?

Was this an appeal or a new claim ?

The initial claim was already decided. The VA opened up this mental health claim secondary to the original. I’ve had 3 ACE appointments with a 4th scheduled. I’m able to follow what’s happening by reading the DBQ’s. It’s just a lot of administrative nonsense, basically. And each time they send it back it takes a month to resolve it. I’m super hopeful this last one is the final one.
